Hey guys! I am so sorry that it took me this long to put this post out. I keep on forgetting to write this post, and I actually finished this series over a month ago. Again, so sorry. I’ve said this before and I will say this again I absolutely am obsessed with this series. It is so good. I will recommend this series to anyone. I literally cried 5 different times at the ending of the last book. Now, without further ado, let’s get into it.

So this is the sixth book in the series if you aren’t counting the prequel, but I am, so for me this is the seventh book. Just to clarify in case you were confused why I was calling this the seventh book. In the sixth book a lot of stuff happened so I’ve got to do a very quick recap of the sixth book. So Elide Lochan meets this guy, that kind of hates Aelin, named Lorcan. Lorcan and Elide low-key fall in love while they were searching for Aelin and her court. Eventually they find her at the end of the book. Manon was sent to go kill Dorian by the uber evil Valg king, named Erawan, but actually Manon lets Dorian go and Dorian escapes with Rowan who came to rescue him. Rowan and Dorian eventually meet up with Aelin and her court as well. Manon also joins them. Oh and Manon is actually the queen of another, less evil witch species, called the Crochans. Another person that comes to journey with Aelin’s court is Ansel of Briarcliff, who you definitely don’t remember. Ansel basically betrayed Aelin when Aelin was Celaena and now Ansel is her to pay back her debt that she owes to Aelin. Also two dudes that were from Maeve’s court now left her court and are with Aelin now. They’re names are Fenrys and Gavriel. So that’s basically everyone that is travelling with Aelin’s court. But at the end Aelin ends up battling the kind of evil Fae queen, Maeve, and she ends up being captured by Maeve, which is definitely not good. So now Rowan, Fenrys, Gavriel, Lorcan and Elide are searching for Aelin. Dorian and Manon went to go find the rest of the Ironteeth witches and search for Crochan witches to add to their group kind of thing. Aedion and Lysandra and the others go back up north to Terrasen and they are trying to gather an army against Morath’s forces, and hopefully band together with the old lords that still rule Terrasen. Ok, now we are finally done that insanely long recap of the sixth book (don’t worry there will be more recap in the next review). So, you may be wondering, where my guy Chaol at? I have a special place in my heart for Chaol. You know, he really is a good guy. And he got promoted to be the King’s Hand when Dorian took over. But anyways, Chaol got paralyzed in the battle at the Glass Castle, and now he is going to get healed. Chaol is going with Nesryn Faliq, his girlfriend that he kind of doesn’t really love, to go to the Torre Cesme. The Torre Cesme is in the Southern Continent and it is the best place for healing in the whole world. They can heal almost any disease or problem, with magic, might I add. Since Chaol is paralyzed completely in the lower half of his body, it would take a lot to heal him, and the Torre Cesme is the best and safest place to do it. So the whole book, like the entire thing, is about Chaol getting healed and maybe finding love (forget I told you that), and Nesryn trying to win over the respect of the rulers in the southern kingdom (the khaganate). Nesryn is trying to win the respect of the khaganate because once Chaol is healed, they will have to go back to Terrasen to fight against Erawan and having the khaganate’s armies would be really helpful. So, yeah, that’s the seventh book. Hooray!

We are finally at the last book. This book was full of surprises, and like I said earlier I cried 5 different times at the end. Not even because it was sad, because it was happy. Now we have to do the dreaded recap. Hopefully it’s short this time. No promises though. So Chaol is all healed! He also is married. He fell in love with his healer, Yrene Towers, and they got married. Also, Nesryn did win over the khaganate and now most of the royal siblings and army are coming to aid Terrasen in the war. Nesryn is also engaged. She is engaged to one of the royal brothers named Sartaq. Sartaq is also next in line to become the ruler of the southern kingdom, so Nesryn will become the Empress if they survive the war. Nesryn also figured out that Maeve is actually the only Valg Queen! She then escaped her Valg King (Orcus) and came to Earth. She mad everyone beleive that she was one of the three Fae Queens, even convincing her so called “sisters” that she was one of them. So that is the recap. I am shocked that I was able to keep it this short. This might be a record guys. So now we are back to this book. Basically Aelin is being tortured by Maeve. Maeve got her most ruthless guy to torture her. His name is Cairn, and he takes so much pleasure in hurting her. Aelin is barely holding on. Rowan is basically filled with the need to find his mate, and is shutting everyone out. Lorcan and Elide also got into a fight when Maeve was confronting them in book 6 and so Lorcan and Elide aren’t even on speaking terms, and yet are still travelling together. Things are pretty awkward for Fenrys and Gavriel. So that’s going just great. Aedion and Lysandra also got into a fight at the end of book 6, and yet they are both leading the battle against Morath. They are really struggling against Morath, as their army is very tiny and Morath’s army is almost triple their size. So things are pretty tense over there too. Chaol, Yrene, Nesryn, Sartaq, and the rest of the khaganate family (minus a couple) are currently in Chaol’s hometown of Anielle, because an army is going to attack them, so they are staying there to help them. Manon and Dorian are currently searching for Crochan witches. That’s really all I am going to tell you about this book. Just a warning, this book is 982 pages long, so it’s a really big book. It is definitely the biggest book that I have ever read.
I am so sad that I finished this book series, but I am so satisfied with it. I honestly love it so much. It gives hardcore LOTR vibes, so if you’re into that then you will probably like this series. I’d say that the only thing that I wished had happened was that more main characters had died, that way it was more sad. That might just be the Harry Potter fan in me, but I kind of wanted to end the book like half hating the author and half respecting her. But still loved the series and would 1000% recommend it. Also I will be releasing another post this weekend because it is a long weekend and I just finished Twilight. Anyways that it for this post! Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
