Hey guys! So, I’m back with another post. I finally finished book six of this series. I love this series so much. I have to say that I think that the sixth book was my favourite of all the books. If you haven’t seen my first post, you should probably read that one, because you will be very confused, and I don’t really want to have to explain the whole thing to you guys again. That took me like 30 minutes to type the first time, and I really can’t do that another time. This will be a three-parter, unfortunately. But, there’s just no way that I can finish these last two books in a week, and I’d like to get this post out as soon as possible. Just a warning, this is a really long post, so buckle up. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

4. Heir of Fire
Sarah J. Maas
So, in the last book we heard that Celaena has a secret. That’s kind of where I left off in the last post. So, let’s recap. Her secret is that she hasn’t been killing any of the people that she’s been supposed to kill. She goes to their house to kill them, but gives them a choice. Either she kills them right now, or they sneak onto a ship and leave their life forever. Obviously everybody chooses the latter. I’m not going to go into the details of that book, because you know, I’ve still gotta review this book. But, in case you were wondering, that was the secret. Also, Celaena and Chaol get together, and then they break up, because Chaol basically let Nehemia die. Oh, and Dorian has magic and Celaena is Aelin Ashryver Galathynius, who is the long lost heir to Terrasen. So, a lot of things happened. If you’re overwhelmed, honestly I still am. Sorry, that was absolutely unhelpful. I’m going to explain. Even though this review is about this book, I feel like it’s my duty to explain the third book a little bit. So Chaol and Celaena who I was definitely shipping, did end up getting together. It felt soooo right.. But then they broke up because of Nehemia. If you don’t know who Nehemia is, she is a foreign princess from the kingdom Eyllwe. Her and Celaena are besties, but the King of Adarlan doesn’t like her. He tells Chaol, the Captain of the Guard, that there are assassins stalking her, but doesn’t do anything about it. Nehemia gets killed, Celaena is heartbroken, she can’t even see Chaol, their relationship is ruined, honestly very deja vu from when Sam died. Obviously, Celaena and Chaol broke up. Somewhere along the way, Celaena and Chaol and Dorian find themselves in this secret chamber in her room, they get into this crazy fight, and Dorian finds out that the has a really powerful magic, which is crazy because there is no magic in Erilea, and there hasn’t been for 10 years. Celaena also reveals that she is Aelin Ashryver Galathynius, which is insane. If you don’t know who Aelin Ashryver Galathynius is, get with the program girlie. No, I’m just kidding. Aelin Ashryver Galathynius is the heir to the kingdom Terrasen, but everybody thought that she was dead. But Celaena isn’t really Aelin. Celaena has built a whole new life for herself, and even though she revealed that she is Aelin, she hasn’t emotionally accepted it. She can’t really. That’s basically where the fourth book comes in. Chaol sends Celaena away to Wendlyn, which is the southern kingdom, where there is magic. He sends her there because it’s the only place that is really safe for her. She is technically on a mission to assassinate their royal family. But, five days into her stalking the royal palace, and basically surviving on wine and bread, and being an idiot the whole time, she is summoned by Maeve. Maeve is her aunt, and also an extremely powerful Fae queen. She is the only person that has the knowledge about the Wyrdkeys that Celaena seeks. I am not going to go into Wyrdkeys because this one review is waaaaay too long. But, Maeve won’t give her any answers until she trains with one of her best warriors Rowan Whitehorn. Rowan hates her (surprise surprise), and with both of their extremely strong personalities they clash instantly. Low key shipping tho (tee-hee 😏). Sorry, that “tee-hee” makes no sense unless you’ve read the series before. Meanwhile, in Adarlan, Dorian is having a hard time keeping his magic hidden, and Chaol is being a sad boi, in the words of my dad. Then Aedion Ashryver arrives. He could either be a formidable foe or opponent and Chaol plays a dangerous game in trying to figure out what Aedion is. Anyways, that’s it for the fourth book. Oml this was a long review, I gotta wrap this up.

5. Queen of Shadows
Sarah J. Maas
That was a really long review for the fourth book. Most of it was just explaining the third book but now I can sort of shorten these posts up. That took like a full hour to write. So Celaena has fully accepted her identity as Aelin which is great, because I’m so unused to saying Aelin and I keep on accidentally typing Aelin instead of Celaena. Okay time for the much, much, much shorter recap of the fourth book. Aelin and Rowan do grueling training, become close, Aelin unlocks her fire powers (which are soooo cool), and basically they’re great. But, their bond goes super deep and they become carranam after a super intense battle, and they are some stirrings of maybe a possible romance (oooooooh!!!). Carranam is basically when your magic bonds with another person’s magic. Anyways, Rowan and Maeve have a blood bond, so he can only obey her, but he wants to leave and go with Aelin. So Aelin trades something really big to get Rowan out of the blood bond, (i forgot what she traded), and Rowan immediately proposes a blood bond to Aelin, and so know they are like bonded. That’s the recap. Much shorter. Thank god. Now, Aelin is back in Adarlan. She is basically there to settle old debts, and become Celaena Sardothien one last time, before she can assume her throne and become Queen of Terrasen. But, she also needs to free her cousin, Aedion Ashryver. She is trying to assemble a court for when she goes to take her throne, and her cousin needs to be on it. But then there’s Dorian. In the fourth book, Dorian finds a lover, Sorscha, but then Sorscha is brutally beheaded by the king in an attempt to break Dorian. Spoiler, it worked, and Dorian is now imprisoned by the Valg. Before we get into the Valg, let me just take a minute to write about Sorscha. I mean, I liked the idea of Sorscha but I just didn’t think that it would work out. She was sweet, but just no. Anyways back to the Valg. The Valg are demons that imprison people and are like the definition of evil. Once they’ve done what they needed to do with the person, they eat their soul. No biggie. So the fact that Dorian is imprisoned by them is a really big deal. Aelin thinks that they should just kill him to put him out of his misery, but Chaol wants to keep him alive. Now let me explain a new characterrrrrrr. Her name is Manon Blackbeak and she’s super cool. Manon was introduced to the scene like a book ago, but basically she didn’t really do anything. I also didn’t really have the room to talk about her whole like backstory and explain who she is. She’s like a half side character, half not. She is an Ironteeth witch. Ironteeth witches are basically just witches that have iron nails and teeth that are super sharp and could like rip someone’s heart out. Her grandmother is the Matron of the Blackbeak clan. A Matron is like the high witch of their clan. Manon is the heir to the Blackbeak clan. She has her own coven, who are called the Thirteen. They are the most feared coven in the Blackbeak clan, so they’re kind of a big deal. There are 2 other Ironteeth clans. The Yellowlegs and the Blueblood clans are the other ones. They were all summoned by the Duke of Perrington to go to this evil mountain/torture chamber kind of place called Morath. Morath is giving very Lord of the Rings, like Sauron kind of vibes, but whatever. The Duke wants them to train and ride these like winged beasts called wyverns. They’re like these really big things that can fly, and they have spikes on their tails that are poisonous. If Adarlan ever went to war, the witches would have to fight the enemy forces on their wyverns. Her storyline was sort of introduced to the main line of the book, but only for a brief moment. Just thought that I would mention that, and sort of explain her. But, that’s it for the fifth book. This is a really long post guys.

6. Empire of Storms
Sarah J. Maas
So, we’re at the sixth boooook! Finally. Aelin is now fully ready to take her place as the Queen of Terrasen. Everything is kind of working out. Just a warning, there is gonna be a lot of spoilers right now, like really big ones, so if you don’t want to know then don’t read this review until you’ve read all of the books. Soooo, the King of Adarlan is dead. Dorian killed him with his super cool magic. Also, the glass castle that he lived in shattered, and Aelin like froze this huge tidal wave of glass before it hit Rifthold, which was also really cool. This is theoretically great because now Dorian is the new King of Adarlan and he can sort of start a new era. But, remember Manon Blackbeak, the witch that I explained in book five? And the low key kind of evil Duke that summoned them to Morath? Yea, so turns out the Duke is the uber evil ultimate Valg demon king, and has been secretly controlling the now deceased King of Adarlan. Basically he is the cause of all of the horrors that have been going on in Adarlan for straight up 10 years. Also, the Duke is still alive, so it’s really not that great. This means that eventually, Aelin and Dorian and everyone will have to go to war with the Duke and his forces in Morath. But, let’s talk about something other than impending doom for a moment. Let’s acknowledge Aelin. So, she has assembled a court to help her when she becomes the Queen of Terrasen. The court consists of Aedion Ashryver, Lysandra Whose-Last-Name-I-Don’t-Know and Rowan Whitehorn. Aedion is Aelin’s cousin. He is the famed Wolf of the North. He was a general there for a long time, and is the leader of a very powerful group called the Bane. You probably don’t know who Lysandra is. Basically, Aelin knew Lysandra when they were kids and Aelin was an assassin. They hated each other, but in the fifth book they became literal besties, and now she is in Aelin’s court. Finally Rowan. You know Rowan, I know Rowan, we all know Rowan. Basically, Rowan and Aelin are “courting”, as they call it, and Rowan is blood sworn to Aelin. They are super close, and I am hard core shipping. Also, another side characterrrrrrr! Her name is Elide Lochan. She is related to Aelin, but I honestly forget how. She has this ruined leg from falling down the stairs when she was a kid, and she was a servant for Manon. But then she escaped, and Manon helped her run away when Morath got like blown up. Ohhhh, I forgot to tell you guys that Morath got blown up. Basically this lady Kaltain decided to give up her life, and blow up Morath to try to stop the evil forces. Didn’t really work, but it was a nice sacrifice. Anyways, can’t really get to much into Elide without spoiling, but I am just gonna tell you that she is there. Anyways, that’s a little sneak peek into the sixth book, and I am finally done.
Well, that’s it guys. I have wrote an extremely long blog post for you. All for you. I had lots of fun doing this, and I hope you guys like it. That’s it for now, and I will try to finish these last 2 books and give you guys a post soon. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
