So, it is my very first interview! Actually I did an interview with my sister on my podcast. You can find my podcast on Spotify(yes I opened a podcast, that you can find on Spotify, by myself, at the age of 10; feel free to compliment). You just open it up and look up “Isha’s Book Reviews”. But anyways Arti Pandey is actually my dad’s cousin. She wrote a book called the Golden World which I am going to be talking about today (duh). Now let’s get started (my new catchphrase in case you missed this line in my Harry Potter post)!
Interview Question #1/Review of Book
What is The Golden World about?

The Golden World
Arti Pandey
As Told by Arti Pandey
This is a book about a different world – a world that was once so lovely that even the name ‘The Golden World’ did not do it justice. The main character in the book, a teenage boy named Peter, wants to visit this world under the illusion that it would be a wonderful experience for him. Unfortunately, when he gets there, he finds it cold, bleak and gray. It is no longer green, let alone golden! The Golden World has been taken over by a dictator. He has broken the very bonds that held The Golden World in balance. He has turned the inhabitants of the World against each other.
In this situation there is no way that Peter can go back. He has to stay on and help to overthrow the dictator. There are a lot of interesting characters who become his friends but the one perhaps who he is most interested in is Goshanna – a young girl around his age.
As the story develops, Peter learns something about himself and his commitment to doing the right thing. The final outcome of the struggle to reclaim The Golden World is never clear because the dictator is a very powerful figure. So…I hope that the readers will be motivated to turn the pages all the way to the end to see what finally happens!
Interview Question #`2
Why did you choose this book?
I wrote this book because of some practical reasons and some not-so-practical reasons. On the practical side, I had to consider how much time I have to give it with the children at home. And so…I couldn’t write a book that would require a great deal of sitting in libraries and researching. I had to write something that I could make up or invent on my own. On the not-so-practical side I wrote about an idea that I had in my head and took it as far as I could in one book. I really wanted to create a different world from our own and use it as an allegory for what is going on in our own world, our own political systems which can be taken over by dictators and demagogues.
Interview Question #3
Did you enjoy this book? (kinda a dumb question)
I did enjoy my book but more than my own personal enjoyment in writing it, I hoped very much that the readers will be enthralled by it and will become interested in the characters who live in the pages of The Golden World.
Interview Question #4
Did you relate to this book?
I related to the book as being a reflection of what can happen to our world if we don’t take care of the environment. Our world can easily go the way of The Golden World with acid rain and soil that is infertile and unproductive, if we don’t try very hard to take care of our earth.
Interview Question #5
What is your overall rating? (also a dumb question, looking back)
I am going to have to leave this to the readers who are after all, our best critics.
Sorry, Isha here right now! Just wanted to say that I would rate this book a 10/10! I really enjoyed this book!
Okay, I am back now, to wrap this up. I hope you guys enjoyed this interview. Special shout-out to Arti Bua, for agreeing to let me interview you. Hope you see this at some point. Now, byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
